Dr. Sara Whedon
Dr. Sara is an Oakland County native. She is a proud graduate of Marian High School. She completed her Doctorate and Masters at Logan University. Dr. Sara started and grew a successful chiropractic practice in Rochester with her Brother-in-Law. Her organizational leadership expertise and her ability to connect with people made her the right fit as Clinical Director. Along the way, she has become a huge advocate for community organizations and believes that there is no time like the present to live your best life. She is most proud of her work with other doctors to help make patient care seamless. She takes pride in ensuring our state-of-the-art office is reflected in every area of patient interaction and community involvement. Building something exceptional is a choice; she prides herself on raising the bar on what is possible.
Functional Neurology Director
Dr. Michael Husmillo
Dr. Michael Husmillo is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in Integrative Biology with an emphasis in neuroanatomy. He did his thesis under the supervision of Dr. Marian C. Diamond, studying the relationship between the immune system and its effects on neuroanatomy. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While attending LifeChiropractic College, Dr. Husmillo received other various awards and honors such as the Excellence in Care citation.
He completed a 3-year postdoctoral neurology course through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies in Clinical Neurology and successfully passed examinations leading to the certification of Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. He has blended his background in nutrition with hundreds of hours of advanced postdoctoral training in Functional Neurology to provide a very comprehensive and unique approach to one's care. He has also completed advanced studies in the treatment of vestibular disorders, learning disabilities and behavioral disorders from the Carrick Institute for Postdoctoral Education and can assist in the non-pharmaceutical treatment of vertigo and balance disorders in all age groups and children with ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and Learning disabilities.
In 2006, Dr. Husmillo received appointment to the Board of Trustee at the Judson Center. A non-profit organization serving the families of Southeast Michigan. He has worked with numerous professional and amateur athletes in their quest to maximize their neuromusculoskeletal system and assisted in their recovery from injuries. He is an Independent Medical Evaluator in the State of Michigan and serves as an expert witness for disputes in the workers' compensation system and personal injury arena.
Dr. Husmillo is first and foremost committed to providing each patient with an individualized diagnostic and therapeutic approach to assist them in their journey to live a healthy and fuller life.

Chiropractor
Wes Paten, D.C.
Dr. Paten is a graduate of Life University in Marietta, GA, the largest single-campus chiropractic college in the world and CCE accredited. While in school, Dr. Paten specialized in multiple techniques, including Applied Kinesiology (AK), Neuro-emotional Technique (NET), Activator, and some aspects of Functional Neurology and Network Spinal Analysis (NSA).
Dr. Paten believes in holistic health care, focusing on each patient’s physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, intellectual, social, and environmental health. Dr. Paten has experience treating a range of patients, from babies to senior citizens to pregnant mamas and athletes. His treatment sessions include a combination of muscle testing, full spine adjusting, nutritional and hormonal counseling, neuro-emotional release, and functional neurology.
Dr. Paten is also a licensed personal trainer and can provide information and advice on the best movement and exercise for your specific health goals.

Joe Ferrick
Joe has been with CLS since its inception. Prior to joining the CLS team, Joe was a personal trainer at Lifetime Fitness for nearly 10 years. He graduated from Central Michigan University in 2012 with two majors: health fitness and preventative rehabilitation, along with a minor in nutrition. Joe serves as the clinic's new patient advocate, taking new patients through all the testing assessments and x-rays to determine if chiropractic care is right for them. He is also the clinic's stretch specialist and offers stretching sessions to patients, which greatly compliments their adjustments.

Concierge
Nicole Bowen
Nicole has worked in several capacities since CLS's opening in 2021, currently serving as our clinic concierge.
She graduated from Miami University with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Marketing. She worked for over ten years in the financial industry as a Public Relations/Marketing Specialist. She was an Accountability Coach for five years and obtained her NASM Nutrition Certification to help people improve their health. She has also been a Crunchi Advocate for the past seven years and has helped hundreds of women switch out their toxic products for safer alternatives.
Nicole is extremely passionate about traveling and has been to over 35 different countries. She enjoys learning French and loves spending time with her husband and two kids. She can usually be found in her garage gym doing CrossFit or Olympic Lifting.

Marketing Manager
Sylvia Suttle
Sylvia has been with CLS since the clinic opened in 2021. She has worked in several roles at CLS and is now excited to be the CLS Marketing Manager.
​
Sylvia is a highly motivated and experienced marketing professional with years in the industry. She specializes in digital marketing, focusing on social media, screenings, event planning, and more. She has successfully executed many large events in her career.
Sylvia has also been the artistic director and head of marketing of her own professional contemporary dance company, Suttle Dance, for the last 10 years!
Outside of the office, Sylvia is a professional dance teacher and dancer herself. She absolutely loves teaching and sharing her creative spirit with others. Sylvia is bilingual, speaking German and English, and she also loves to spend time with her friends and family, going to the gym, and doing anything outside!
Co-Owner & Business Director
Erica Michaels
Erica Michaels is a longtime chiropractic advocate, supporter, and patient.
For 14 years, Erica led the Enrollment and Recruitment teams as the Director of Enrollment at the largest Chiropractic University, Life University. During this time, she and her team continuously exceeded enrollment goals, and she was asked to pave the path for chiropractic enrollment in Europe.
Recently, Erica became the Director of Operations for OneChiropractic, a Chiropractic Advocacy Organization. She was also part of the team that created My Lifestyle iQ (MLiQ), a health and wellness app explicitly made for chiropractic offices.
Erica spends time with her three kids outside of work, including a bonus daughter from Italy and their many pets. She loves traveling, trying new restaurants, skiing, and traveling some more.
